ABOUT
I am Amina Fogg, a RIBA Chartered Architect (UK) and the founder of Natural Forms, an independent practice based in Montpellier and working across France, the UK and the Caribbean.
I design, and advise on, hotels, resorts and estates shaped by place, climate, materiality and sensory wellbeing. Wellness is not an added layer in my work. It is embedded in the architecture itself: in the approach, the light, the materials underfoot and the rhythm of a stay.
How I work
Every project begins with place: landscape, climate, light, local material language and cultural context. Before any form is drawn, I define what the place should feel like, then test every decision against it. The aim is always a sense of belonging, spaces that unfold gently, reveal themselves over time and leave a lasting impression without excess.
Because I have spent much of my career on the owner's side, I also understand what it takes to protect that intention through budgets, brand standards, consultants and a live operation.
Background
I spent more than twenty years in practice before founding Natural Forms. I was an Associate at Foster + Partners in London, and I held senior client-side roles in the Bahamas: as owner's representative on the $3.5Bn Baha Mar development, and as client-side lead on a $200M capital programme at Atlantis Paradise Island, spanning food and beverage venues, guest rooms and public spaces.
My Bahamian background shapes how I respond to the natural elements: light, water, heat and the pace of a day. London gave me rigour and an ease with complexity, along with a sense of whimsy. Montpellier now brings the landscapes of the South, a joie de vivre, and the simplicity of grounded living.
Who I work with
Owners, developers and operators of hotels, resorts and heritage estates, and the design teams they appoint.
